SimpleStorage ('we,' 'us,' 'our') is a software platform built for independent self-storage operators. Our platform handles facility management, tenant data, digital leases, collections, AI communications, and accounting. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information from operators using our platform ('Operators') and from tenants managed through the platform ('Tenant Data').
When you sign up and use SimpleStorage, we collect: (a) Account information: name, email address, phone number, business name, and facility details; (b) Billing information: processed through our payment partner Finix — we do not store full card or bank account numbers on our servers; (c) Usage data: feature interactions, login events, and system usage patterns for product improvement; (d) Communications: emails and messages sent to our support team.
As an Operator using SimpleStorage, you may upload or migrate tenant records including names, contact information, unit assignments, lease history, and payment records. You are the data controller for this information. SimpleStorage processes this data only on your behalf and in accordance with your instructions. We do not sell, share, or use tenant data for any purpose other than providing the Platform to you.
We use the information we collect to: (a) Provide, operate, and improve the SimpleStorage platform; (b) Process payments and manage your subscription; (c) Send transactional communications (e.g., billing receipts, security alerts); (d) Provide customer support; (e) Analyze aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve our product.
If you use the AI Communications add-on, calls and messages handled by the AI are logged for quality assurance, ticket creation, and daily summary generation. Call recordings are stored securely and accessible only to you and authorized SimpleStorage staff for support purposes. We do not use call content to train third-party AI models without explicit consent.
We do not sell your data or your tenants' data to third parties. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Platform, including: (a) Finix — payment processing; (b) Cloud infrastructure providers (e.g., AWS); (c) Communication providers for AI call handling; (d) Analytics tools using anonymized, aggregated data only. All third-party providers are contractually required to protect your data.
We retain your account and operational data for as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel, we retain data for 30 days to allow you to request an export. After that period, data is securely deleted unless we are legally required to retain it. Tenant Data follows the same retention schedule unless you request earlier deletion.
We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access control, and routine security audits. However, no system is perfectly secure. You should use strong passwords and enable any available two-factor authentication features.
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to: access, correct, or delete your personal data; request a portable copy of your data; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and collect anonymized analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings.
The SimpleStorage platform is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Platform. The updated policy will be effective upon posting. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance.
